“Outdoor Adventures family of parks now includes Crims Paintball Complex”
“Crims Paintball Complex of Bear, Delaware, has merged with Outdoor Adventures’ (OA) and will become part of OA’s newest park in Chesapeake City, Maryland. Mike and Jack Crimian have joined forces with OA to bring paintball in the mid-Atlantic area of the East Coast to the next level. Crim’s existing focus on competitive paintball such as practices, GPL and drill fields will continue, but OA Chesapeake City offers a wide variety of special events including scenarios, birthday and bachelor parties. “We are delighted to be part of an organization that has the number one reputation for paintball in our region for the past 20-plus years, and are excited about the advantages that this merger will provide to Crims.”
A schedule of events, maps, etc. for OA Chesapeake City, Rosedale, and Bowie fields are at OA’s web site www.OApaintball.com.
This weekend will be the last weekend of operation at Crimsplex
. The following week will start a new era of tournament paintball practices. With the merger, OA and all of us at Crims will be working hard to produce the best tournament fields around! My father and I felt that OA has some of the highest quality fields and management on the east coast It is only smart for the both of us to team up and make them even better! As for the new fields. The tournament fields will be separated from the recreational areas so that we can focus solely on tournament practices. I want the highest level of play to come out of our facility and we are going to supply you with everything we can to make that possible .I hope everyone has enjoyed the last few years here at our place and believe me when i say we are going to make these next few the best! The new practice facility is still being built but we do have a few fields we will be playing on in the mean time over at OACC, and yes they are amazing! lol. I encourage everyone to come out this weekend and play and just have fun! Like i said, it is the last weekend we are going to be there. Enjoy!

“Two teams from the Drexel University Paintball Club traveled to Pittsburgh for the 2007 Frost Bowl, the third event of the Northeast Intercollegiate Conference (NEIC) Class AA five-man season Feb. 10.
In the two previous events, Drexel finished with a first place finish, a second place finish and two third places. Team veterans AJ Antonioli, Stephen Carullo, Jon Popovitch, Corey Young and Michael Zapantis rounded out the first team, nicknamed “Tony Danzas.” Veterans Chris Barnes and Nick Strenk joined with freshmen Tyler Brim, Uriah Dunn and Chris Grabosky for the second team, nicknamed “Cincinnati Bowties.”
Both teams played well in preliminary competition, smashing opponents in some games lasting less than a minute. Both Drexel teams made finals, with Bowties finishing a solid third and Tony Danzas going 3-0 in finals to come out in first place. With this first-place finish, Drexel is now ranked No. 1 in the nation for Class AA.
Drexel University also competes in the elite Class A X-Ball format, an invite-only league of the nation’s best colleges.
They recently traveled to the Lehigh Valley to compete in a Class-A event where they beat undefeated Penn State 6-5 and Rutgers 11-0. With this performance, Drexel is also now in ranked No. 1 in their conference for Class A.”

The second event of the 2006-2007 NCPA Class A Xball series took place at Lehigh Valley Paintball in Emmaus, PA on February 25. The scheduled day pitted a dominate east coast conference against each other all teams fighting for National Championship seeding which will take place in Texas from April 20-22. The event staff consisting of members of the LVP Factory team and the staff of the field was more the eager to hold their first xball event, and made large changes to their facility just to accommodate the event. Due to an issue with University of Maryland’s administration, they were unable to attend the event and all of their scheduled matches were deemed forfeits. This could play a pivotal role in seeding in April.
The first match of the day took place between to long time rivals Penn State and Drexel University. These teams seeded one and two in the conference were ready for a fierce battle. Penn State took an early 2 – 0 lead over Drexel as they took the snake early and were able to bump up the field. Drexel came back strong tying the game up at the half. The start of the second half had Drexel taking the lead and holding it through the 16 minutes as they were able to hold on 6 – 5 for the win. University of Connecticut took the field against Rutgers who struggled in the first event. U Conn the defending National Xball champs took it to Rutgers early and began to mount a large lead, finishing out the game 9 – 1. Rutgers then quickly had to turn around and get back on against Drexel. Drexel who looked dominate right from the start began to pour on the points against a struggling Rutgers program who have gone through many changes from last year and have lost players since the first event. Drexel finished off the game with an 11 – 0 win over the Scarlet Knights.
Penn State reeling from the loss to Drexel earlier in the morning was ready to bounce back and get a win from the U Conn Huskies. The game started out with Penn State taking the early and lead and held strong through the half. As the teams changed sides of the field so did the control of the game as U Conn began to take control of the second half and tied it up. With less than 2 minutes left a hard fought battle left U Conn’s snake side player push through the X and hang the flag with only 7 seconds left on the clock and not enough time for PSU to tie it up. U Conn gives PSU their 2nd loss of the day and bumps Drexel into the number 1 seed in the NEIC. As inclement weather began to fall in the Lehigh Valley the event coordinators decided to postpone the final match between PSU and Rutgers till the third event at Cousins Paintball in Long Island. The third event will be determining factor for seeding for Nationals and will be a guaranteed slug fest on the field as every team will be fighting for their spots.
A special thanks to Lehigh Valley Paintball who supplied great paint, a stellar reffing staff who you would never had known they had not reffed an xball event before and a perfect indoor facility for the second leg of the NIEC series. The Staff of the NEIC should be commended for setting up a great event. Alex Elliot of http://www.alexpotato.com/ ran a solid event that not only ran on time but ran almost perfectly. The third leg of the NEIC Class A series takes place Sat March 31 at Cousins Indoor in Long Island, NY. Go to http://www.college-paintball.com/ for more information on the NEIC and NCPA.

On November 18th, 2006, the Drexel X-ball team competed in the first Class A event of the 2006-2007 season at Atlas Paintball Park in Washington, NJ. After long delays, the players were anxious to see how they would fare this season after working hard in the off season. With some new killers from the freshman class, Tony Coen and Uriah Dunn as well as help from Brian Hawk with superb coaching, and great play and experience from team veterans such as Chris Barnes, AJ Antonoli, Michael Zapantis, and Steven Carrullo, Drexel proved themselves as a force to be reckoned with in the 2006-2007 Class A season. The weather of the day proved to be somewhat hurtful, especially with the brittle Diablo Blaze that was provided, but Drexel still pulled through wins against the University of Maryland, and U Conn, last year’s national champs. The gun problems took their greatest toll during the last match of the day against Penn State, which Drexel lost, with very few of Drexel’s markers being in operable condition. The Drexel team will be working hard during the winter break in preparation for Class A Event #2, and they are looking for a win against Penn State.
